Origin of goods - aligning interests of States and business
The issue of determining and controlling the origin of goods is extremely important for traders. Currently, rates of import duties, anti-dumping duties, partial reduction of import duties or complete exemption from their collection are applied depending on the country of origin.
In many cases, the country of origin affects the application of prohibitions and restrictions to such goods both at import and export.
In order to determine and confirm the origin of goods the standards of the World Customs Organization, are used. For customs authorities, the control of the origin of goods is an assurance of the efficiency of applying economic instruments of state regulation.
For business, the comprehensibility of approaches to the origin of goods is an opportunity to seamlessly confirm the right to receive tariff preferences, exemption from anti-dumping duties or non-application of special economic measures.
