ICF-2024 will be held in the context of Russian Chairmanship in BRICS. Consequently, the plenary session will focus on trends in the development of integration processes within the BRICS customs administrations and adaptations of foreign trade in the context of challenges arise.
In the context of the ever-changing world geopolitical situation and the intensification of the new multipolar world order establishment, BRICS has the potential to become a stronghold of global development and security. Moreover, BRICS is a new format association based on mutual respect of the participants and their equality.
BRICS is actively expanding: in 2024 it was joined by 5 new members and there are other calls from a number of countries to join BRICS.
Given this expansion, the issues of all areas of integration within the BRICS have become more relevant than ever.
During the Plenary Session of ICF-2024 speakers will touch upon an important topic of cooperation within the BRICS – strengthening positions in the economic and integration areas through customs cooperation. They will discuss how constructive cooperation between the BRICS customs administrations can be an important factor contributing to the protection of international supply chains and the growth of the BRICS economies.
During the session representatives of the BRICS countries will discuss:
- place of customs issues in the BRICS agenda;
- role of BRICS customs administrations in the formation of BRICS;
- possibilities of convergence of customs rules and procedures;
- mutual recognition of the institutions of Authorized Economic Operators;
- exchange of experience in the field of risk management;
- cooperation in combating customs offenses;
- promoting the development of transport corridors within the BRICS.
